With Keoni’s cautionary aid, she explores the premises and personalities of the complex. When she declares her certainty that the girl did not fall from the apartment’s lanai to Keoni, she is forced to reveal her ongoing visions. At Natalie’s invitation, Keoni joins Nathan and her for meetings with the coroner and the Honolulu police detective who was once his partner. Top Customer Reviews 5.0 out of 5 starsI really enjoyed this book By Ben I really enjoyed this book even though I had not read the previous book The Paladin Project: A Legend is Born (The Paladin Project Chronicles Book 1) I soon caught up with the characters and who was who, but I do advise readers to read the previous books to gain even more enjoyment from this edition. The characters are very well written and all move through an interesting plot concerning the sinister antics of the mysterious Shadow man. Though I thought a couple of events were over too quickly and with a bit of a rewrite, extra tension and excitement could be added to the story, that is my humble opinion, but it did not distract from the story. I liked that it was set in Scotland, a country I have visited and driven through many times. The author has captured the settings and atmosphere of the locations the book is set in, adding to my reading pleasure. I can highly recommend this book so give it a try as it's a little gem waiting to be discovered. I received this book free and though I was under no obligation to leave a review I enjoyed the book and so I have shared my experience here.

While returning from Professor Dawson’s lecture on haunted places, the last thing Sheriff Jeff McQuede and Dawson expect to encounter is a terrified woman clinging to the railing of Mirabella’s Bridge, crying for her lost baby. It looks as if Rae Harris has thrown the infant over the bridge in a fit of despair, but she claims he has been stolen by a ghostly figure she calls Mirabella. Similar to the La Llorona legend Dawson just spoke about, Mirabella was a local pioneer woman who was rumored to have drowned her infant after being abandoned by a lover. At first McQuede believes Rae was driven by madness, but he soon finds evidence that her story may be true, and the perfectly timed kidnapping of her child may be in some way related to lecture attendee and local celebrity, Jim Royce, and his vast fortune.

The matriarch of the Skeenbauer family isn’t pleased to have a descendant of the Tuttlesmith witches return. The thing is, the Tuttlesmiths stopped practicing magic when they left Coventry, and Brighton has no idea she’s a witch. She’s about to get a big surprise. Oh, and there’s also a dead guy in an alley behind the diner. Brighton finds his body one night after stopping in for a stack of pancakes, and of course, the town’s hunky sheriff starts to give her the side eye. But, a lot of people wanted the victim dead, and that only complicates the investigation. There’s a murderer on the loose in Coventry, and Brighton’s got to learn to harness her powers to avoid the killer’s snare. If the Broom Fits is the first book in t ...
