The time before this one, for my Pineapple Port release I ran a Facebook ad pushing a contest to win a copy of all the books in my series, (signed paperbacks) and a smattering of ebooks. I ran it for a month. Cost me about $800 in clicks and got around 3000 new sign ups to my newsletter (that were from a new pool of readers, not the usual promo sites/my own AXP, etc.). I also promised book #1 FREE (but not right away --- I scheduled a free day to correspond at the end of the giveaway and then sent them all an email letting them know to go grab it) AND every entrant got my lead magnet short story free (instantly).

So to recap: they entered for a chance to win all my paperbacks, or win 1 of 20 free copies of my new release (and gifting those actually bumped my sales a little), AND every entrant got #1 free (at the end of the event) and a short story for free (instantly).

Sales have been up since then.

The original idea was to get new eyeballs on my series via a giveaway (of books, so they should want MY BOOKS and not money, gift cards, etc.) because what is left for us to do? We all use promo sites but the people who use Robin Reads and ENT and AXP are the same people. People who seek out promo sites. YES they all still work and all of them are always getting new reader sign ups, but there are so many more people out there. 90% of them on Facebook (especially for cozies since FB skews older).

The key is eyeballs. The only way to get eyeballs is advertising on social media.

You can promote your giveaway on AXP, too!  (I can help set everything up or just run the notice)
