NEW!! If you want to promote a 99c book instead of a free book, you can... if you ALSO offer SOMETHING free.
What does this mean? It means you can promote your 99c sale with a personal mailing...and include in the same mailing a link to a free download of any kind (another book, a short story, a giveaway), even if it requires people to join your newsletter to get it. If I'm going to put emails in the boxes of 30k readers, I want to make sure they're happy to get it.
What you get!
How it Works: I send out the mailing encouraging people to return to AuthorsXP and sign up to get your free book. Once they sign up, they get the link to your freebie on Amazon and other retailers. FAQ
BEST PRACTICES & RECOMMENDATIONS
Promoting a free book to get downloads and exposure:
Promote JUST the book link directly to Amazon/Retailers. Don't distract the readers from downloading.
Promoting a free book to get reader emails:
Promote the free book and either have them sent to your signup page to get the book, or I will have them sent to MY sign up page and then send them to the download link on Amazon/Retailers. (And then send you the list at the end.)
Promoting a 99c book to get sales:
Promote JUST the book link directly to Amazon/Retailers and let them know they can also get an additional free book/story, etc. by going to an additional link. Use that additional link to capture emails and/or expose readers to your work so maybe next time they buy. AXP can host the link to your free item if you need help setting up your giveaway. Great for NEW RELEASES and any 99c promotion day.
Be sure to pair any of these with a Daily Deal as well - that way readers will see your book twice (it doesn't always hit them to move the first time!)
