The Watson Girl: An absolutely addictive and pulse-racing crime thriller (Tess Winnett) Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 12,874 ratings

Can she remember what happened that night, before the killer she thought was caught can strike again?

Join the ingenious and strong-willed
FBI Agent Tess Winnett in her action-packed search for the prolific serial killer who once made a mistake. Addictive!

“Oh my gosh
this book was just sooo good. I can’t possibly say enough good things about it. So just take my word and read it for yourself and you’ll see!!! Definitely recommend!!!” – Velvet M., five stars review on Amazon.

She’s unharmed but not unscathed

For fifteen years Laura Watson believed her family’s killer had been caught and was awaiting execution on death row. While she moves on with life with her adoptive family, she also lives in terror and uncertainty of the fear that she will one day remember what really happened that night.

She’s The Watson Girl

As a therapist conducts regression session treatments in an attempt to bring back Laura’s lost memories, little does she know that the closer she gets to the truth, the less time she has to remain alive. Now, the real killer is ready to silence her for good, before she can remember the details of that horrifying night.

She’s a serial killer's loose end

Smart, relentless and short-fused
FBI Special Agent Tess Winnett and her team now search for the serial killer who has managed to stay hidden, but who is now ready to strike once more to silence one last remaining witness.

Tess will hold nothing back to stop the killer before he takes another innocent life. Even risking her own in the process.

Laura Watson’s family was murdered fifteen years ago.
That was only the beginning.
His beginning.
If you’re the apple of his eye, you’re already dead.

The best-selling author of
Dawn Girl is back with another suspenseful, gripping thriller. If you’re a fan of David Baldacci and James Patterson, you will enjoy Leslie Wolfe.

Praise for The Watson Girl
“Love, love, love me some Tess Winnett!!!!”

“’You know a psychopath when you see one...’ Maybe Leslie Wolfe is a psychopath or just a heck of a researcher (hope's the second one), but after Silence of the Lambs, and some top Criminal Minds episodes is hard to find a book that will abduct you the way that this one abducted me... Fantastic writing and scary way of ‘thinking as the serial killer...!’ Bravo!”

“Wow!!! This book was so dang good!!! I couldn’t read it fast enough.”

This is the first book I've read by Leslie Wolfe and
WOW, if you like serious thrillers, this one is for you. A serial killer is on death row for many killings. Everyone is sure they have the right man for ALL the killings, but DO they? Be careful, this is a page turner, don't start if you are sleepy.

“Oh, my what to say! First, I almost missed my flight since I somehow buried myself in this book. Of course, I have now ordered the entire season. I think this will make me a Leslie Wolfe fan. It has been many years since I got hooked on an author. Thank you!”

“Loved it! Couldn't put it down. Would fall asleep reading my kindle, wake up in the middle of the night and start reading again! Kept me guessing until the end.”

15 yrs. ago. Ben (neighbor) was returning Allen Watson (husband/father) cordless drill.
Laura Watson (daughter/sister) 2 brothers & mom/dad had been murdered.
Hannah Svoboda (housekeeper) had found her hiding in the bathroom laundry hamper.
FBI SA Therese “Tess” Winnett had recovered from her injuries while in the line-of-duty.
FBI SAC Pearson welcomed her back.

Laura Watson (BS, MS student, electrical engineering) was helping her adopted father Bradley “Brad” Welsh’s with his pride/joy WatWel Lighting Inc.
While having supper with Adrian (adopted teen son) Laura informed him she has an upcoming appointment with Dr. Austin Jacobs (UCLA; PhD, neuroscientist).
Raiford Prison (FL.). FBI SA Winnett was sent to see Kenneth “the family man” Garza (50, serial killer) is on death row, lethal execution in 3 weeks.
34 families, 108 killed, 30 children.
According to Kenneth he only killed 31 families.
The Meyers, Townsends, & Watsons, were not murdered by him.
Was he jerking her chain?
Brandt Rusch (TV reporter) was live interviewing both Laura & Dr. Jacobs.
Why did FBI SA Winnett go see Sheriff Gary Michowsky (Detective Palm Beach), & Sheriff Todd Fradella (Detective Palm Beach)?
Tess, & Gary, were listening to Dr. Rizza (ME) recount the brutal murder cases: Jackie Meyer (tortured/murdered, bite marks), Ralph Townsend (husband/father), Cindy Townsend (wife/mother, raped), Emily Townsend (daughter, raped/stabbed, exsanguination (blood drained out of body), Rachel Watson (wife/mother, stabbed x3), & Allen Watson (shot).
Raiford Prison (FL.). FBI SA Winnett went back to see Kenneth again.
Laura was finally placed in protective custody.
Miami Beach. FBI SA Winnett (30) went to interview. Dr. Austin Jacobs (f).
The media had coined the serial killer the Chameleon.
Sheriff Michowsky, Sheriff Fradella, & Doc Rizza were going over another list of 9 female murdered victims.
Is there still another serial killer out there?
& a reference list.

Warning: This book contains extremely graphic adult content, violence, or expletive language &/or uncensored sexually explicit material which is only suitable for mature readers. It may be offensive or have potential adverse psychological effects on the reader.

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. Wow, a very well written serial killer book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great serial killer movie, or better yet a mini TV series. A very easy rating of 5 stars.

A second thought-provoking book in the Tess Winnett series.

I've thoroughly enjoyed every book by this author, and I can't wait to read the third in this series!

I appreciate the research the author does to make sure the characters are believable.

Thank you for making your books available through Kindle Unlimited. It may have taken longer to discover one of my new favorite authors, otherwise.

Next up, Glimpse of Death. It promises to be another page turner!

Leslie Wolf's first book in the series was well written but the whodunit part was obvious immediately. If you are a police procedural lover I suppose that does not matter but I also love an element of surprise and a bit of thriller thrown in. If I wanted a text book I'd find one. I want a story.

I knew who the serial killer was immediately and the accomplice at the end was predictable too, not that I knew an accomplice was coming immediately, but that if there was one I knew exactly who it had to be.

I found the story marched on. I found the plot pedestrian. I've read so many just like it. This one, however contained no surprise ending. It had no chills up the spine. The relationships went nowhere. There was no evolution between book 1 and book 2 except that the problematic behavior of her superior officer softened slightly. The books go from case to case and the writing is a pleasure. The protagonist is hurt and never heals. She never fails. Her associates don't change their mind about her. She just goes on to the next book.

I will probably read the third book in the series because I tend to pick an author and read everything they wrote in a particular serie. I hope that there might be some human development at the end, if the writing is as tight and enjoyable as it has been in the first two books. Only the plot needs help!

This book wasn't a stinker but it was not a grab you and shake you story.

This book was amazing to read. It is always so hard for me to start any of these authors' books. It is because of how disturbing the start of the plot is. It is especially hard for me when children are involved in any way. But once I am past it I gotta read to see the revenge. To see the ending to the horror. It never fails, it is always amazing. Although this time I did had a feeling but not to the extend... all the twists are just wow!
